75 g Butter

1 1/2 tbsps Soft Brown Sugar

175 g Plain Flour

1/4 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda

2 tsps Ground Ginger
Directions
Add some festive family fun to your Christmas activities by baking these gingerbread biscuits that can be added to your tree!
Steps

Add butter, golden syrup and light brown sugar to a mixing bowl. Then place in the microwave and cook on MEDIUM MICROWAVE for 1 min or until melted, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. |

In another mixing bowl mix together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and ginger. Make a well in the centre and pour in the melted butter mixture. |

Stir together to form a dough (it might be easiest to use your hands). |

Wrap in clingfilm and let chill for 30 minutes to firm up. |

Lay the dough between two sheets of baking parchment and press dough lightly with a rolling pin giving a quarter turn than repeat. |

Give it a final quarter turn, then start to roll backwards and forwards, giving regular quarter turns. Until dough is roughly thickness of a £1 coin. |

Using a biscuit cutter cut out the shapes using the end of a pencil push a hole in the top of the biscuit ready for threading with ribbon. |

Bake at 180°C for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly golden brown. |

Decorate and thread the string or ribbon through when completely cooled down. |

The biscuits won't be firm but will harden when left to cool outside the oven. |
