Breadsticks

Made simply in your breadmaker, these breadsticks work as a perfect party offering or accompaniment to your dish.

Put the ingredients in the pan in the order listed above.

Set the breadmaker to Pizza dough setting.

When the cycle is complete, scoop out the dough onto a floured work surface and divide into two. Rollout the first portion into a rectangle about ½ cm thick. Top one half of the dough with your chosen filling and fold over to encase the contents. Roll the filled dough back into the original shape and cut into strips about 2cm wide. Place on a lined baking sheet. Repeat with the second portion of dough. Experiment by twisting the dough sticks before baking.

Brush the bread sticks with the beaten egg and bake in the oven at 180˚C for about 20mins until golden brown and crisp.
