Baked Falafels

These delicious flavourful falafels are baked in our microwave oven. You can make them in just 5 minutes and cook for 20 minutes. They are perfect as a snack or for dinner. For a more filling dish, put 2-3 falafels in a corn tortilla wrap.

Steps

In a food processor pulse parsley, garlic and shallot. Add the chickpeas and pulse for few seconds.

Add the flour and all spices, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil (2 tbsp) and pulse. Pulse until it becomes a crumbly dough-like texture.

Transfer falafel dough to mixing bowl. Preheat oven to 180C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and scoop rounded tablespoon amounts of dough onto parchment paper, and gently form balls.

Paint falafels with a bit of olive oil and place in the oven to bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden in colour.

To make the Sauce: in a bowl add all the ingredients. Mix to combine. Drizzle falafels with sauce before eating.

To make the wraps combine mixed greens, or your favourite veggies, and 2-3 falafels in a corn tortilla wrap, drizzle with the sauce and serve.

1 Can of Chickpeas
2 tbsp Tahini
1/2 Lemon Juiced
1 tbsp Chilli Oil
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
1/2 tsp Ground Coriander
1/4 tsp Ground Cardamom
1/2 tsp Sea Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
4 tbsp Olive Oil

2 Lemon Juiced
1 Pinch of salt
3/4 Cup Greek yoghurt
2 Garlic Cloves
