Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland | Preparation is Everything
“You just need to keep your focus on the things within your power.
The people around you, your training, your routine.
And the choreography you’ve been working on for so long
That and your diet. All of those elements come together to help you reach your potential”
– Penny Coomes

Preparation is everything to any athlete competing at the Olympic Games. As Team GB’s Official Kitchen Appliance Partner, we have teamed up with Team GB Ice Dancers Penny Coomes & Nick Buckland to help them get set for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, and to bring you a sneak peek into our athletes’ preparation.
This page is dedicated to the pair, their story and the recipes that have fuelled and comforted them through their journey to PyeongChang 2018. You can even re-create them yourself at home!

A Note from our Nutritionist – Daniel O’Shaughnessy
“Cutting out entire food groups can actually be detrimental to your health, especially when cutting out carbohydrate completely which are needed for energy production, essential vitamins and to fuel training and recovery in sport.
As you can see from the recipes, Nick and Penny incorporate all food groups in a balanced way. The important rule however is to make sure everything is fresh and unprocessed.
Preparing fresh food is always a great way of ensuring you are eating well as you can have more control over what goes into your body”
